A Hong Kong Story

To mark the arrival of the Drake’s Hong Kong pop-up, now open for business at Pedder Arcade, we spent a few days capturing a preview of our Spring collection—including new Games tailoring in washed denim and lightweight seersucker, the return of our ‘fun’ shirt in crisp linen, and the cotton-herringbone fatigue suit—worn by Junyin from 9 Savile Row, who grew up in the city and showed us around some of his favourite spots and cultural landmarks.

An evening at Happy Valley racecourse (with a couple of winners), antique hunting on Cat Street, breaching the morning mist on the Star Ferry, and even finding time for a swim off the shores of Sai Wan… alongside a few late-night dinners crammed into one of the city’s thousands of dim sum parlours.

Hong Kong has a long and detailed history of innovative textiles and sharp tailoring; an ever-shifting metropolis and melting pot of more than seven million people. Old, new, East, West, humidity and... a bit more humidity. Not that it stopped Junyin on a whistle stop tour of his hometown.
