The Games Suit in Tokyo

Akihabara Electric Town is a Tokyo district that is best known for neon lights and otaku culture: anime, video games and various other geekery, mixed with a slight air of seediness. There’s a sense of things creaking at the seams, a coating of dust mingling with the sensory overload.

It might not be the most discerning neighbourhood in the city–it’s a bit like recommending Piccadilly Circus as an essential pilgrimage during a trip to London (don’t miss M&M world!) but if you’re new to Japan, it is a sight to behold, a chiming, kaleidoscopic temple of strangeness.

During an evening excursion to Akihabara, we wanted to showcase the versatility of our Games range of tailoring, our signature ‘knockabout suit’ designed for the rigours and pleasures of day-to-day living. Launched in 2019, we’re now several generations and countless iterations into its lifecycle, in double-breasted and single, heavyweight corduroy and Harris tweed, but all retaining that sense of unstructured, workwear inspiration and an easy sense of comfort.

The sort of suit that you can wear to a wedding, the office, or for a particularly heated round of Time Crisis II five stories up in a Tokyo arcade.
