A new addition to the ever-expanding Games family, this one continues the sporty themes of its siblings, but applies them to a traditional military tunic jacket.
Our Games family of products welcomes its newest member: the Tunic Jacket. The Games line has quietly been establishing itself these past few years, and now it’s quite the offering. There’s the Games suits, of course, which have become very popular as the versatile midpoint between rugged workwear and more traditional tailoring. And recently we introduced the Games Blazer Mk. IV, with its novel interchangeable button system.
The Games Tunic is a different proposition, drawing more from militaria than vintage sportswear. It began with the original block of the Games Blazer, before being lengthened and shaped ever so slightly, in the style of a traditional military tunic.
It also takes inspiration from our shirt-making. The collar is very much informed by our shirt collars, and the sleeve ends in a button cuff. The jacket is also darted in the waist to create this particular silhouette. It’s cut from a weighty Irish linen which has been garment washed for softness. It has a pleasingly worn-in, vintage feel the moment you slip it on.
As you know we’re never ones to skimp on pockets, and this is no different. Four big patch pockets grace the front of the garment, each with an inverted pleat and a slanted flap. Again, this is a little bit reminiscent of our shirt-making, in particular our overshirts.
It’s a classic piece steeped in vintage militaria, sportswear, performance outerwear and traditional English shirt manufacture. And who better to wear it than our Creative Director, Michael Hill.
