As the end of this strange year inches ever closer, we present a seasonal playlist courtesy of legendary U2 bass player, Adam Clayton, packed with alternative Christmas songs to accompany some well-deserved festivities.

"When I started to think about this alternative Christmas playlist I had to begin with the idea that this will be a truly alternative Christmas, coming at the end of a challenging year. So, no Pogues, Slade, Lennon or McCartney.
"What sort of mood will we be in for December? Will we be suppressing an urge to party like it's 1999, or will we be more stoic and accepting that the Grinch has stolen Christmas? Whatever it is, I hope you will sit back and enjoy this alternative soundtrack to what will undoubtedly be a memorable Christmas."
